Back in the eighties, following the old Morgal Bismarck route in Boulder CO, I came across a group of cyclists. I latched onto a wheel to soon discover that I was following cycling legends Connie Carpenter and Davis Phinney! I was 17 at the time and the two looked back at me, smiled and said, "Hang on if you can!"
Jump forward to May 2011. I was so thrilled to be invited to the Road to Victory Bicycle Classic as soon as I found out that this was a ride to benefit the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson's. With an opportunity to ride with cyclists who inspired me to ride, I couldn't pass this one up!
The Road to Victory begins in Boulder and heads North up towards the city of Longmont. Along the first 1.5 hour stretch, we roll over undulating hills, ride with friends and find Connie's wheel. This first stretch is relaxed with a few spurts of effort ideal for warming up the legs and heart.

Once we begin our Southward trek, the efforts pick up a little higher as we close gaps to other cyclists and eventually begin our 10 mile 2000' climb towards the small town of Jamestown. Along this climb we'll wind along James Canyon dr admiring the steep mountains and rushing waters from the creek.
After the climb, we're rewarded with a fast twisty descent back to the front range and some amazing views of the Rocky Mountains that lie just West of Boulder. Our ride ends where we began, 60 miles after the start.
This ride is ideally suited to maximize fuel consumption. The efforts are ideal to get the heart rate up sustained intervals. In other words, we'll be working hard, but not so hard that you aren't able finish the entire 3hr 50min ride.
This ride is filmed in High Definition with a Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound audio track. The audio and video are so vivid and realistic, you'll forget that you're indoors.
This videos is available on BlueRay, DVD and download. The download version is presented in 2 channel stereo.
